Huawei is known for offering top notch features and awe-inspiring design to its user at mid-range pricing and has spellbound attention in the Pakistani smartphone industry.
Keeping up with the tradition of reviewing new smartphones and accessories, we’ve been using the HUAWEI Y9s in Midnight Black for a while now and here’s what we think of it.
The company has played on its cameras as it’s packed with cutting-edge photography technology that prepares any shot really well whether it is near or far.
The smartphone comes up with a triple camera system setup featuring a 48- mega pixel main camera, an 8MP 120 degree Ultra-Wide Angle camera and a 2MP Depth sensor. It sports a 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, with an f/2.2 aperture. It is equipped with a 4,000 mah battery pack which is 500 mah higher than its previous generation.
In terms of storage, the Y9s comes with a massive 128GB as its default offering and can be expanded up to a maximum of 512GB of additional space.
Like many phones on the recommended database, this phone also runs Android 9.0. Remarkable levels of zoom aside, the Y9s also has low-light performance that instantly turns night into day without having to wait for a couple of seconds of capture.
Huawei’s ultra-power-saving mode can significantly extend the battery life by disabling functions and limiting the number of apps you can use, if you really need your smartphone to last four days.
The polished glass body with 3D arc design delivers a smooth and comfortable feeling in your hand. The sides are made of aluminium, which gives it a sort of grip to the phone while the indented home button doubles as a fingerprint sensor that supposedly provides users with a “one touch” unlock.
Y9s is the best feeling, most premium device the Chinese firm has made. It’s incredibly solid, smooth and well built.
With the advanced side-mounted fingerprint sensor, unlocking your phone in 0.3 seconds the phone attracts the youngster’s. When the power button and a fingerprint sensor are integrated, it only takes 1 second to wake up the voice assistant by pressing the button for a long time and pressing 3 seconds to turn off your device.
With a 48 triple rear camera Y9s delivers super high resolution and greater color accuracy for more vivid detail in your photos. The 16-megapixel front-facing selfie takes images that are relatively soft in detail without activating the face-thinning mode or skin smoothing.
There’s nothing worse than a low battery when you’re gaming. Huawei Y9s is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. The charging speed is increased by 100% at the trickle charging stage. Charge and play? No problem. Heating is under control, and performance is through the roof. Get rid of the power bank and focus on your daily tasks as you want.
Huawei Y9s offers you a completely uninterrupted screen experience. The extraordinary FHD+ fullview display in 6.59inches with 91% screen-to-body ratio delivers an ultra-wide horizon without a notch. Plus an amazing 391ppi puts it altogether making this display one of the best in its category.
EMUI 9 is the most polished version yet, with more refined animations and actions, but it still has some odd quirks. Huawei also has its own version of Google’s digital wellbeing tools showing you how long you use your phone, which apps, how many times you unlock it and with the ability to set limits. While the smart antenna technology applied to full scenes ensures the strong signal for gaming and video playback.
Priced at Rs 42,999/-, Huawei Y9s is available in Midnight black and Breathing Crystal colours – Breathing Crystal being the more dominant and appealing looking (but hey, to each their own). The triple rear camera setup captures excellent pictures however, the shortfall comes with the fact that this device doesn’t come with fast-charging. Overall, we think this smartphone definitely has some strong features that make it worth the money. Our gaming and viewing experience in particular was truly immersive and the main selling point of this device.
