Prime Minister Imran Khan’s coronavirus test, taken on Tuesday, came down negative on Wednesday. Prime Minister’s Focal Person on COVID-19 and top trusted physicist Dr Faisal Sultan said yesterday that Prime Minister Imran Khan would undergo coronavirus testing as he met philanthropist Faisal Edhi who later tested COVID-19 positive.

Dr. Faisal recommended that the Prime Minister be subjected to the COVID-19 test taking into account the situation after Faisal Edhi – the president of the Edhi Foundation – was screened on Tuesday for coronavirus.

The Sindh Health Department, which had done its virus test earlier, shared this news. The report has been checked by Faisal Edhi upon contact. There were also reports that Faisal Edhi’s son has also been tested positive for coronavirus.

Faisal Edhi had met Prime Minister Imran Khan last week and gave him a cheque of Rs10 million for the Prime Minister’s Coronavirus Relief Fund. Faisal Edhi, the son of famous social worker Abdul Sattar Edhi, had made headlines some weeks back by saying that they were closing the funeral homes being run by the Edhi Foundation because of the pandemic.
