Hamza Ali Abbasi has always been in the news, but it has rarely been for his acting. The actor is being criticised on social media platforms after uploading a post in which he said that Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam at a press conference during his visit to Kashmir declared Ahmadis as Muslims.

Taking to Facebook the actor penned a note and said : “On 23th May 1944 Quaid-e-Azam gave his views at a press conference during his visit to Kashmir that Ahmadis are Muslims and entitled to join the Muslim conference organisation which consisted of muslims.

He further adds, “We qoute below from the Urdu book Tahrik Huriyyat Kashmir (History of independence movements in Kashmir), volume2 1935- 1945 page 291.”

“Newspapers correspondents asked him a question about Mirzais, that they are not being allowed to join muslim conference because they are considered non muslims. What is your opinion about this Mr.Jinnah Replied: “Who am I to declare a person as non muslim who call himself a muslim?” Abbasi explained.

Abbasi concluded the note saying : “A footnote in the book at this point explains the background to the question. At the revival of muslim conference, its constitution has been made flexible so that no Ahmadi could become a member of conference.”
