All the preparations have been completed to bring the dead body of former president General ® Pervez Musharraf back to Pakistan from Dubai today, reported local media.
The Dubai Consulate has issued a No Objection Certificate in this regard. According to diplomatic sources, the dead body would be brought to Rawalpindi and it would be dispatched from Al Maktoum International Airport, Dubai and would reach Pakistan at 12 noon today.
According to sources, the Pakistani mission in UAE is in touch with late Musharraf’s family and the consulate will facilitate in whatever way it can.
Musharraf died in Dubai after a prolonged illness on Sunday.
The 79-year-old former military ruler, who had been in the UAE since 2016, was undergoing treatment for amyloidosis at American Hospital, Dubai.
A special military aircraft will fly to Dubai from Nur Khan Airbase to bring Musharraf’s mortal remains back to Pakistan for burial, the sources.
