The Citizens Foundation (TCF) Kicks Off Baghbaan Summer Internship Programme 2025 Across Pakistan

The Citizens Foundation (TCF), one of Pakistan’s leading non-profit organisations dedicated to providing quality education, successfully launched its annual Baghbaan Summer Internship Programme (BSIP) 2025 this weekend, with vibrant ceremonies held in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

The Baghbaan Summer Internship Programme is a nationwide youth-led initiative that empowers students and young volunteers to advocate for education, raise funds, and contribute to social change in their communities.

This year’s programme has seen an exceptional response, with more than 2000 volunteer registrations received across the country.

The Islamabad chapter, launched on Saturday, welcomed 130 enthusiastic volunteers.

The Lahore ceremony followed with 430 volunteers, while the Karachi event witnessed the highest turnout with 1,400 registrations and 700 volunteers actively participating on-ground.A moving highlight of the Karachi launch ceremony was the participation of TCF alumni, who shared their inspiring journeys of struggle, perseverance, and success.

Among them was a particularly emotional moment when a young girl, a TCF alumna, stood before the audience and shared her personal story.

Overcome with emotion, she revealed that she was the first person in her entire family — male or female — to ever receive an education. Thanks to TCF’s support, she was able to break generations of illiteracy and is now proudly studying at Bahria University.

One volunteer, reflecting on the moment in the post-event feedback, shared:”The most impactful moment for me was towards the end of the event, when a Pashtun girl shared her personal story.

She became emotional while speaking, and it really touched everyone. She shared that no one in her entire family, neither male nor female, had ever received an education before her. I felt so genuinely happy for her and silently prayed for her continued success. Seeing her cry while telling her story made it even more powerful — for me, that was the highlight of the entire event.”

Such stories served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of education, inspiring both volunteers and organisers alike.

Speaking at the event, Isfandyar Inayat, Vice President Development at TCF, shared the vision behind BSIP, stating:”The objective of the Baghbaan Summer Internship Programme is threefold — to raise awareness about the importance of education in Pakistan, to mobilise vital fundraising efforts for TCF schools, and to create servant leaders who will become agents of positive change within their communities and beyond.”

The launch ceremonies featured motivational addresses by TCF leadership, success stories from past Baghbaan Ambassadors, and detailed orientations outlining the programme’s objectives, fundraising targets, and outreach initiatives for the coming six weeks.

The Baghbaan Summer Internship Programme 2025 will continue nationwide over six weeks, during which interns will engage in active fundraising campaigns, awareness drives, and digital advocacy to help bridge the education gap and support TCF’s mission of providing quality education to Pakistan’s less-privileged children.
