“SSGC Announces Gas Supply Timings for Ramadan”

Karachi: With Ramadan just around the corner, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced its gas supply schedule for the holy month.

According to the schedule, gas will be available from 3:00 am to 9:00 am for Sehri preparations and from 3:30 pm to 10:00 pm for Iftaar, ensuring uninterrupted supply during peak meal hours.

The SSGC’s announcement aims to provide convenience to its customers during the holy month of Ramadan.”

“The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced that it has tailored its gas supply timings to facilitate convenient food preparations for Sehri and Iftaar during Ramadan.

However, the company cautioned that the country’s gas reserves are depleting at an annual rate of 10%, exacerbating the gas demand-supply gap.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has predicted that the new moon for Ramadan will emerge on February 28 at 5:45 PST, marking the beginning of the holy month.”

“According to scientific predictions, the likelihood of a moon sighting on February 28 in Pakistan is extremely low. As a result, Sha’ban is expected to complete its full 30 days, and the first day of Ramadan fasting is likely to be observed on March 2.

In contrast, Saudi Arabia is expected to commence Ramadan on March 1, due to the moon’s favorable position and atmospheric clarity.

This prediction is in line with the earlier forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), which also expected the first day of fasting to fall on March 2.

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, millions of Pakistanis and billions of Muslims worldwide will observe a dawn-to-sunset fast, marked by increased charity, public food drives, and roadside stalls for those returning home in the evening.
