Depilex Smileagain Foundation (DSF), in collaboration with L’Oréal Pakistan, celebrated the graduation of the very first Beauty for a Better Life (BFBL) cohort in Pakistan, held at Depilex Karachi – marking a powerful milestone in the journey of dignity, empowerment, and hope for women survivors.
For over two decades, DSF has worked to rehabilitate survivors of domestic abuse and acid attacks, offering them a path to rebuild their lives with courage and resilience.
Through this partnership, that mission has been amplified: 60 women completed intensive training in hair and beauty aesthetics over the four-month BFBL program, gaining not just technical expertise in haircare, skincare, makeup, and salon hygiene, but also confidence, self-esteem, and pathways to financial independence.
Masarrat Misbah, Founder of Depilex Smileagain Foundation, added, “Beauty for a Better Life is more than a training program, it is about reigniting hope, restoring dignity, and creating real opportunities for women who deserve a second chance in life.
At Smileagain, we believe beauty is courage and the ability to rebuild. With Fondation L’Oréal’s support, we are enabling women to secure their future with strength and independence.”
Fully funded by the global Fondation L’Oréal, the global BFBL program reflects L’Oréal’s commitment to using beauty as a force for social change.
Since its inception, the initiative has empowered over 67,000 women worldwide with vocational skills, equipping them to secure livelihoods through entrepreneurship and employment.
Pakistan now proudly joins this global movement, with DSF at the forefront of its local implementation.
Speaking at the event, Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager, L’Oréal Pakistan, said, “At L’Oréal, we strongly believe that beauty has the power to change lives.
Today, we are proud to see the first batch of BFBL graduates from Pakistan step into their next chapter with renewed confidence and independence.
This milestone is possible only because of our inspiring partner, the Depilex Smileagain Foundation, and its unwavering dedication to women survivors.
Together, we aim to continue creating beauty that transforms lives.”
With this inaugural graduation, Pakistan becomes part of a global network of women whose lives have been transformed through Beauty for a Better Life, reaffirming the shared vision of DSF and Fondation L’Oréal: creating beauty that restores hope, independence, and dignity.
